National Diagnostics ProtoGel forms an electrophoresis matrix designed for the separation of proteins and polypeptides. ProtoGel is a stabilized, ready-to-use 30% (w/v) acrylamide/methylene bisacrylamide solution manufactured from high-quality materials with impurities extensively removed.
The formulation uses a 37.5:1 acrylamide-to-bisacrylamide ratio and contains zero acrylic acid. This helps eliminate fixed charges that can contribute to band streaking during electrophoresis.
Oxidation products such as aldehydes have also been removed through a selective adsorption process. These compounds can interact with proteins and potentially alter sample characteristics and migration behavior. ProtoGel is designed to provide consistent gel preparation and reproducible electrophoretic results.
